Cross lashing
This is post number 15 in a series of cargo securing advice and useful hints. These are meant for people who think economically. They do not like to waste time, muscle power, risk their health or pay fines.
Lashing methods Part 3C: Direct lashing with cross lashing
Straps can also effectively prevent sideways tipping if placed so they cross each other on both ends of the cargo item. Cross lashing effectively prevents tipping, backward and forward sliding, and also works as a spring lashing on the sides.
When using a tarpaulin, it is possible to combine both spring lashing and cross lashing straps for the same product.
